128 amateur players from our Regional events participated in our Gross and Net divisions on Oct 26 and 27.
The Net division produced an exciting Sudden Death Playoff between the teams of Scott Hartley/John Murray II, representing Lamar Country Club in Lamar, MO and John Milazzo/Phil Smith, representing Currie Park Golf Course in Milwaukee, WI. Be sure to watch our broadcast of the ESPN National Golf Challenge National Finals to see this exciting playoff.
The Gross division did not have as exciting a finish as the Net division as Blake and Austin Bowman of Cobblestone Creek GC in Muskogee, OK set a blazing pace with an 8 under par 64 in their final round to take the crown with a 5 stoke cushion.
90 Club Pro's entered the competition in the Club Pro National Finals. The Pro event was held on Oct 25 and 26 and the 1st place check of $10,000 went to Ryan Nelson from Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX.
All Pro's participating received a minimum check of $550 from our Pro Purse.

132 amateur players from our Regional events will join us in Las Vegas to determine who will be crowned "America's Best 2 Some" in their respective divisions for 2007.
100 Club Pro's will participate in the Club Pro National Finals. 1st place check will be $10,000. All pro's participating will receive a minimum check of $550 from our Pro Purse.

Who will meet us in Las Vegas and become "America's Best 2 Some" for 2007?
Approximately 1700 players will compete in our regional events to win the opportunity to advance to the National Finals in Las Vegas. All participants should have received their letter welcoming them to the Regional Finals and instructing them to call their assigned Regional Site at least one week out for information about their tee times. Players are also required to bring their most current handicap index with them to present to the staff at the regional registration.

6/27/07 - Copper Creek hosts 142 players
Copper Creek Golf Club located in Des Moines, Iowa set a new ESPN National Golf Challenge tournament record by hosting 142 players during their Local Qualifying on June 24,2007. Copper Creek utilized the strength and popularity of Sports Radio KXNO and, more specifically, the very entertaining Marty & Miller Show. Radio personalities Marty Tirrell and Ken Miller also hosted a remote broadcast at Copper Creek the day before the tournament and helped continue to build excitement for the event.
Many thanks from the Golf Challenge to GM George Volger, his staff, and KXNO Radio for promoting and hosting such a successful event, as well as showcasing the demanding Copper Creek layout.

Realizing that there needs to be something to play for after one has shot themselves in the foot during the first round, the ESPN Club Pro event will include a Consolation Day for round 2 of the Club Pro event.
Day 2 Consolation Round is determined only from 2nd round scores and prize money is only available to players who do not qualify for a larger check in the 36 hole main event. Club Pro's are not required to record a score on Day 1 to be eligible for the Consolation Round.

In conjunction with our partnership with the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, players will be invited to play a free practice round on any or all of the 3 courses on Thursday Oct 25th. The times of availability will be determined by the Pro Shop staff. Please keep in mind that we will be conducting the first rounds of the Club Pro and Sponsor events on two of the courses that day. Players will be able to schedule a time on the remaining course (TBD) and later in the day be able to continue play on the remaining courses after competition is completed.

The Wolf Course is the third magnificent championship golf course conceived and designed by world-renowned architect Pete Dye. The course can play over 7600 yards from the back tees, making the Wolf Course the longest in Nevada and features more elevation changes and mounding than the other courses at Paiute. This course has played host to a Shell's Wonderful World of Golf match featuring Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb. The ESPN National Golf Challenge is pleased to announce that a special Club Pro Skins Game will be added to the 2007 National Finals. Any Club Pro who records the individual lowest score on any hole during the 36 hole event will receive the $500 "Skin" money. We hope this will add an extra element of interest and excitement to our Club Pro field.

The dates are set for the 2007 and 2008 ESPN National Golf Challenge National Finals in Las Vegas. The competition will be on Oct 25, 26 and 27, 2007. Club Pro competition will be held on Oct 25th and 26th and the Amateur National Finals will be held on the 26th and 27th. This overlap of the events is to allow our Club Pro's the opportunity to watch teams that may have qualified from their clubs participate in their final round.
